I didn't want to throw CrinklyCrustacean's thread off topic, so I just thought I'd start this as a new topic.

When I read your jeans dilemma CC, I could only cringe at the thought of wearing jeans at all!

Jeans & I have a love/hate relationship (so to speak).

I've lost count of the amount of jeans I have purchased because I love the way they look on someone, only to never actually wear them past my front door, because I hate the way they feel. I think they look fine on me...it's the discomfort that I can't seem to tolerate.

They feel stiff and restricting, even if I buy a size larger. Jeans, unfortunately, will never be worn, comfortably, by me.

Does anyone else have similar problems with any items, types or styles of attire?

I don't like the form-fitting clothes that are made, for females, 10 and older. I also don't like the overly feminine designs of the flower power shirts, that they make, for women, these days. If I want to wear a flowered shirt, I'll wear something, like what Mick is wearing in my avatar, with the tie included.

I wear jeans every day. I can't quit wearing them, because that would be as drastic as switching to a new forum or buying a different breakfast cereal or having grapefruit on waffle day or ordering something other than fish tacos with no salsa when I go to Rubio's.
I often buy a size up. They are a bit loose and I have to hold them up a lot, but it's more comfortable that way. I'm short, so it's hard to find the right size. American Eagle doesn't have odd sizes, which makes life difficult, but they do have a "short" option. (Which is great.)

I love jeans, but I cannot wear wool. I also have issues with high necklines. Can't have a neckline touching my neck. I feel like I'm choking.

Oh... and corderoy. The alternating textures freak me out.

luvmyaspie, have you tried wearing a pair of nylons under the jeans? They also make jeans with fabric that stretches. It's much softer and less stiff.

i don't like baggy jeans much.

i do like the slim kind though like the skateboard brand kinds 'cause they look good on me and they're moderately comfortable, but not so tight as to be super form-fitting and nut-hugging :? .

I'm a jeans lover here, though I never try to spend too much on a pair. Nice pairs from any of the cheap "popular" shops and I'm happy. Sometimes I wear coloured pairs. I own a green pair and a purple pair and I saw turquoise and hot pink pairs I wanna buy :P

No I've never thought of wearing nylons under jeans. I imagine going to the loo would be a night mare... Though, I shouldn't rule it out until I've tried it. Thank you :)

Yes, I have tried the stretch type. They seem to cling to my skin.

I own one pair of men's jeans, the baggy style, made of a thinner/softer denim which I can tolerate for a couple of hours. Though, I can't wait to get home and get them off in favour of track suit pants or cargos...as long as they aren't denim. I find denim restricting and the feel of it on my skin is annoying.

Thank you to all who have responded. It's very interesting indeed and, strangely, comforting. :P

I wouldn't know how going to the bathroom works. I don't wear nylons. I can't stand them.

Skinny jeans are evil. They don't look good on anyone, and something tight around the calf makes me rage. If it's bulky at the knee when I bend, it's no good.

I once had a roommate who insisted on wearing spray-on looking jeans. Her secret was to wash them with Lots of fabric softener and use the dryer sheets as well. Before lying on the bed to wrestle her way into them, she would sprinkle cornstarch on the inside of the jeans and rub her legs with it as well to help her slip in them, she said it also helped with sweating and moisture issues in getting them back off again.
Women

I just thought it was gross to put cornstarch all over your legs and then say it helps with sweat. Here's a thought... if you have trouble getting your pants on and off they're too small.

Then again, I don't understand the point of make-up, either. lol

I make a terrible girl... :D

Her theory worked most of the time - though on some occasion I had to help her
(in and out of them) - strictly a friend - besides I was usually laughing to hard or complaining about the stupid idea of wearing them so tight in the first place.
She told me of a girlfriend of hers who would go buy a brand new pair of tight fitting jeans - and then sit in a tub of hot water so they would "shrink to fit". 8O
