I was thinking about buying something from ebay.uk, but I've never done it before. I've only bought from the US one and know how that works, but I wonder what would happen if an American tried to buy from the UK one. Would the dollars get automatically converted into pounds? I would really love to add ebay.uk to my use list, because there are times US ebay can be quite limited...
And has anyone ever done it before? (Bought from another ebay that isn't their country's ebay.)

I haven't bought from any of the other sites but I have bought from sellers in other countries who had listed on the Uk site. Sometimes the currency is in pounds and others in the currency of the sellers country so I guess it just depends of how they set it up. Either way when I pay through paypal it works out the conversion and takes the money. Not sure if that's any help?
I've bought from the US before, (I'm in the UK); and the ebay site gives you an approximate exchange rate which, as far as I can remember was accurate.
I'd advise you to make sure that you research the postage costs accurately and that import duty, taxes etc, are covered by the seller (not likely on ebay).
I know of people here in the UK who have had to pay a ridiculous charge by the carrier; along with the import duty charge and VAT because it was not covered by the ebay seller.
I don't know how that would 'translate' as far as UK to US is concerned; but over 'ere in 'Blighty', you pay a hefty price!
