Keeping your confidence after these comments

I was at the bar last night and I showed this photo of me when I was 11 years old to my associates.

They said “wow you were good looking. What happened?”


How do you keep your confidence after comments like that?

It may have been intended as friendly humor and not an actual assessment of your appearance.

Often humor is based upon saying something that is untrue. Personally, I often tend to rely on saying things that are outrageously untrue when I am trying to be humorous.

Sounds like typical British banter to me.

My supervisor says things like that all the time to me.

I would not base my opinion about my looks on the comments by people who are drinking alcohol & clowning around
