Can someone give me the Denzel Washington version? Could someone explain it in layman's terms? I know one thing: Molly Ringwald look's frickin' demonic in this picture.

Uncanny Valley is when something appears somewhat real but not entirely so so that it looks ugly or creepy. It can be applied to many things, but was originally used to describe machines/robots. Clowns, mimes, and androids fall under this category. It can be applied to other things, though. Uncanny Valley is the reason why I much prefer last-gen video game graphics to current gen video game graphics.

I always thought Molly Ringwald was in the Uncanny Valley. The Slasher Smile! The fact that the photo I posted looks like a mugshot! Those freaky black eyes! 8O

I find some primates seriously fit the description for "uncanny valley". It can be quite unnerving at times.
