Flashing and moving Icons

Is there a way to turn them off?
I can block the flashing ads but I don't know if I can the icons.

I know they are suppose to be attention getting, but when they flash and move, I find them very distracting and unnerving and generally will skip over those posts just to avoid them.

I wish I could do that with some billboards I know.

We had some sidebar ads that were so annoying with moving up and down I just stopped using this site.

for the sidebar ads you can download and used 'Adblock Plus'
so now I can read an article in peace.

Speaking of I just blocked the scrolling ad above this post.
