Here's an idea; don't make dumb, disrespectful, off topic comments in people's threads.

tell 'em to shut up instead of making dumb comments into dumb threads?

Well spell check exists for a reason, and you can use it no matter what your first language is.

To add a bit of humour to this currently dull thread, I present a comical sketch:

gramer facism.

S'all I got to say. :P

If ya can't take it, don't read them. English is not everyone's first language.

Spell and grammar checks don't work all that well. They still have to be human-checked. If the human checking isn't that good at grammar or spelling to begin with, you're still going to get mistakes.

See that little thing next to your keyboard? It's called a MOUSE. Move it to a navigational button on your screen, and click to go somewhere else if it bothers you that much. Slamming people for their grammatical challenges doesn't solve a thing. It just makes you look intolerant.

Have you forgotten that poor grammar and spelling is a serious problem for some Autistics? It's bad enough to get crap from non-Autistics. Why bring it here?

I actually find that people on the spectrum are generally better with grammar and spelling, and the mistakes in the post I quoted could easily be fixed using a spell checker.

No one is perfect, but honestly, anyone with a computer can use a spell checker, it's not complicated and it makes it much easier for WP members to read the posts.

So what? There is no rule on WP requiring proper grammar and spelling. You could always start your own forum, and require it there.

There is no reason to get so upset about stuff like this, when you have the power to overlook it and move on if it bothers you so much.

Not everyone knows how to use grammar and spell check. That's no reason to judge them. We've got people from all over the world here, of all ages. Do you really expect them ALL to live by rules you dictate?

Well, I guess I just prefer to worry myself over the important things, not some minor, accidental spelling errors, but whatever floats your boat. :thumleft:

This isn't what I see as a big deal, I didn't start this thread just to make that comment, I just made a throwaway comment as a reply to another thread and the mods decided to split it for some reason.

I still stick by what I said though: spelling things on a computer is not difficult.

I agree with everything that he posted. We shouldn't slam people for their spelling and grammar. I have bad spelling and grammar but the bad spelling doesn't show because I use Firefox. My grammar sticks out like a sore thumb, and I don't need people to point that out for me and ridicule me for it. My bad spelling is very noticeable when I'm posting on my Wii. I don't need other people pointing it out to me, or correcting me.
