Myself I need low sodium and I would like to avoid trans fatty acids (no hydrogenated fats) and saturated fat. Ideally recipes will be easy, simple, economical.

I had the idea to make my own Granola bars or something. But I never have.

I was guessing a formula like (oats, flax seed powder, sugar, olive oil, sun flower seeds,
chopped dried apricots, sweeten dried cranberries, etc)

I love gummy candy and concord grape juice. I had the idea to use frozen concentrated
concord grape juice (purple grape juice) , gelatin and sugar heated allow to set cut into
bit size. Tried it years ago but i did not use enough gelatin.

Another thing I tried was to make my own grape soda by mixing carbonated water with
frozen concord grape juice. But the carbonated water had something in it that tasted bitter so it failed.

Oh post your on Recipes ideas. But remember we need to eat heatlhy.

Appetizer: Salad with 2 quarts of high-fat dressing.

Main course: Fried chicken with a side of bacon.

Desert: Cake with whipped cream and ice cream.

I can eat that for 3-4 months and still have very good test results at the doctor's. And I won't gain much weight either.

You're lucky.

For breakfast: Frosted Flakes sans milk, bacon, bacon, and more bacon!

Do you have a family history of heart problems. My dad heart attacks, grand father die of stroke. Do you eat fatty fish (omega-3)?

To be honest bacon is the best tasting food in the world but its:
High in sodium, nitrites, saturated fats, high in calories.

I remeber years ago growing homemade vine ripen tomatoes on a bacon sandwich. :)

In the civilized world, we call that a BLT, at least, if lettuce is added. One of the best sandwiches in the entire world.

Washing lettuce is too much trouble so it was a BT.

Actually, BLT is an acronym of a Werbertian word- "Begrelernoietsmfow." You actually had a BL.

My great grandfather died of an heart attack at the age of 84. He had never have a day off work. No heart problems. I eat some fatty fish, for example today I ate salmon (it's 3.50 PM here now), but usually I eat chicken roasted in the oven, steak, pizza or something like that.

Other idea I had was toffee granted its candy. Typically you cook butter and sugar.

What about using olive oil instead of butter? I know butter fat is semi-solid at room
temp but olive oil when refigerated will harden like a solid butter. So the butter/olive oil mix would be add to the frig and allowed to cool in a dish.

I just wonder about the taste of that candy.

I like olive oil so it would be no problem. They do make lite version with little
olive tatse. But that olive taste is part of of olive oils health benifits:

No, I really like olive oil with strong olive taste. I only buy the best virgin olive oil from Italy, about $15 for 20 fl. oz. But it should be used in the right kind of food, i.e. typically Mediterranean food. I wouldn't like to fry an egg in olive oil, for instance.
