I do, though I dislike it, as a linguist who loves beautiful language. And I try not to use profanity in anger, I actually find that worse than using it casually without venom.

This is the main reason why I took up web development. So I could swear like no end.

I swear all the time in my inner monologue and when chatting online with friends, and if there wasn't a rule against it, I'd probably swear a lot on these forums too (not in anger towards anyone; just casually).

But in real life? I almost never swear. I've tried to do it a few times, but everyone begs me not to because it seems too "out of character" for me. I guess everyone must think I'm too sweet/innocent for that kind of talk. Oh how little they know the "real" me.

I don't like to swear too much (although see nothing wrong with it in moderation), but I tend to swear a lot when self-conscious about talking...unfortunately I often talk louder when self-conscious about talking too :?

I don't like swearing, so I don't swear.

Certainly makes you want to though, doesn't it?

I usually do under my breath, mostly when programming and it won't work.
I occasionally do it aloud but I generally prefer not to.

I don't mind you coming here,
wasting all my time
'cause when you're standing oh so near
i kinda lose my mind
it's not the perfume that you wear
it's not the ribbons in your hair
and i don't mind you coming here
and wasting all my time

Rarely, actually. I only cuss either when frustrated or when IMing people. Most of the times in real life, I don't cuss at all, to the point where some people beg me to do so.

I do, but not too often, anyway. I'm a sweet, innocent little child.

I sometimes use it under my breath, usually as an exclamation (when no one is around), otherwise I virtually never use (American) profanity. British and foreign words I have no inhibitions about (while in the US anyway :) )

I do find it funny sometimes though, especially in creative formulations.

For instance, somebody answering a phone with “Tricia! Where the hemorrhaging f**k are you?” as in Douglas A. Adams' Mostly Harmless seemed hysterical, :lmao:

Yes and as for the talk of beautiful language, I think swearing can be poetic.. Can also sound crude too though. But yea I swear quite a lot, in all circumstances pretty much. Grand parents maybe g I'll avoid swearing in front of, but there's not really any filter between what I think and what I say.. too many movies maybe, f**k knows ;)

I only usually swear when I'm having an outburst. I use the C-word the most when having outbursts because it's the worst word I can say and it seems to get all the temper out of me.
