I've been seeing it for a while now. It is declining very rapidly. There is almost nothing I can enjoy other than what used to be good back then. In 2009, we lost a number of celebs. To name a couple, Michael Jackson and Billy Mays. I got wind of Lance Armstrong's scandel. Reality TV started to become horrible (not that I watch it anyway). Ongoing shows began to become a bit stale as in new episodes being not as good as the old episodes. Even the new Cartoon Network is unenjoyable (now I hear they sold the broadcasting rights to Megas XLR). G4 has been going downhill for a few years now and now going off air at the end of the year (They used to be so cool now this). The Videogame Industry has also been struck. Electronic Arts has been doing notorious things for a while now (look for the YouTube video EA In A Nutshell). Even Capcom is angering their fans including Megaman fans like myself. Megaman Universe, Megaman Legends 3, and Megaman Xover all huge disappointments. I hardly even go to the movies anymore. I even heard Disney bought Lucasfilm and a seventh Star Wars is planned (I'm glad I'm no longer a fan anymore). IGN's reviews and several others are being bought through advertising on their websites so reviews are no longer honest about whether a game is good or bad because it is advertised on their websites. Sonic fans can't be pleased by the newer 3D games anymore. I don't know that I can enjoy today's pop culture anymore. I might as well get lost in the past when things were still good.

Especially since they all but intentionally sabotaged the new Thundercats reboot by having nearly zero advertising for it, bad time slot, and a multiple month long hiatus in the middle of the season. It's playing on Toonami now (and they are actually advertising it there) but it's still doubtful that season 2 will even be made unless a miracle happens.

I'm sure it will be another Mickey Mouse episode.

But It's DISNEY!! ! They could NEVER make a Star Wars film like George Lucas! I'm glad I quit during the CGI Clone Wars.

I agree that pop culture has become stale. When I was a child in the 90s and early 00s, everything seemed so fresh, innovative and imaginative. As my special interests have always revolved around movies and television, there was no shortage of new things to discover - it felt like every time I turned on the TV or rented a VHS from Blockbuster, I found a new potential interest (of course that's a gross exaggeration, but you get the idea). It helped a lot that Cartoon Network, Toonami and Nickelodeon were in their Golden Years.

These days it feels like I have tried everything there is to try in the realm of pop culture, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to find new interests. Everything feels like it's either a rehash of something else, or is otherwise missing something special that the shows and movies of the 90s and early 00s possessed. Part of it is probably because I am getting older/more mature and children's entertainment no longer holds the same appeal as it once did (which is what a lot of people have told me), but my mom has pointed out that it isn't just me, but the staleness of the entertainment industry that's probably making it harder for me to find new things to get into.

I really dislike today's pop-culture.. Yolo, Swag. Iphone5 , people like the Kardashians and desperate housewives. Tv in general I guess.. Pop culture is more different , compared to 90s pop as back then you had induvidual things like Pokemon, Pogs, Beanie Babys, tickle me elmo.. now it's more and more about consumerism, or propaganda on a bigger scale to distract people and alter decision making. Polo tshirts for instance, over priced to the max, but yet people feel a sense of status with them. I think rap/hiphop music turned into a pop culture that needs to die. I don't follow trends or watch tv .. but I read about them on the internet. Gaundum Style for instance turned into a pop-culture thing, but I like that song. Things like Twilight used to be, but it's died down. Harry Potter.. Michael Jordan 200+ dollar shoes.. Ipads.. (will the cost ever go down?) and .. could probably think of more..

There are days that I miss The 80s.

It isn't really. You have just gotten old enough to be aware of its' natural ebb and flow.
