It will grow back or if you are going to walk the same path on a regular basis you could scatter some wood bark chips that will deal with the mud.

Awesome!! !

As a teenager, there was a very noticeable "rut" worn into my bedroom rug from my pacing back and forth so much.

I also developed thick callouses on the balls of my feet from it. My mother thought I had some kind of foot disease (she didn't/doesn't know about my stereotypies)!

I did the same thing when I was younger. Nowadays, I restrict my pacing to inside the house. Unfortunately, carpet doesn't regenerate. LOL

When I lived in my childhood home, I ran around in circles in the backyard while listening to music. I ran along the same bath so often that it wore a solid, visible path that you could see on Google Earth! 8O

In the house I'm currently living in now, I either pace around the house or go for a run at the park.

I liked to hold onto a metal clothes line pole and run in circles around it.
I've missed my vocation as a pole dancer.

I wish I had a garden.
I would plant a lot of pretty red flowers.
actually, my favorite color is green.
except green flowers would look very strange, being that the stem is also green.
grass is beautiful.

I have trails all over my yard,It's a good idea to do what CosmicRuss suggested and put down some bark chips or mulch on your path, mud can be slippery.
I'm sorry you dont have a garden Mynameisanna, can you grow flowers in a sunny window or porch? There are many cool foliage plants that may have both red and green coloring.
I'd be lost without my garden,I like old-fashioned flowers that smell good.
