I agree that its mean and could make you feel crappy.

But... The site is an mock version of Wikipedia. There is no article on that site that says good things about anything. If every other article/item was positive and the Aspergers section was mean, you would clearly be right. But its a site that makes fun of EVERYTHING. If you find that article offensive, you should be offended by the site itself and all of its content, not just the single Aspergers article. Be angry about the website being a petty attempt at humor, don't be upset about the article.

Ya i read that article awhile back and it made me very angry too. Attitudes like that lead to some AS people being ashamed of how they are, especially if they don't have much info yet on the condition, ie from doing internet searches when they suspect AS and coming across articles and opinions like that. That shame from being different leads some to be afraid to go to a doctor about getting a diagnosis. There's just no call for being hateful like the authors of this article are.

No anger. But it would be nice to know what motivated the author to write it. Black humor, mental confusion or hate. I have seen some trolls that really hate the self-dx on WP so my guess its the same person(s) or mind set. Its what the person must do to solve their ED problems I guess.

Oh well. Just to know it's not true makes me feel better.

How did you find the site? If you used a search engine which one and what keywords. If someone PM the link to you get their permission and tell us where they found it.

His "article" is highly irrational and appears clouded by emotion, he makes lots of spurious claims too, therefore, I personally suspect this was a character who has had a problematic dealing with an Aspie and this is some way to solve their ED problems as you say. Maybe it got fired by an Aspie boss or maybe it was passed up for promotion in favour of an Aspie, possibly even someone who had a failed relationship with an Aspie. Perhaps it has somekind of inferiority complex. I don't think anyone should allow that article to anger them. It simply isn't worth the energy or time. The poor little primate should just be left alone in a dark corner to rot getting zero feedback on it's article.
Fortunately people like that seldom have any influence so we shouldn't worry. However, saying that, I too can't say I approve of all these people who self-diagnose, at least those who do nothing with their conclusions like getting a professional DX ASAP. It's becoming far too fashionable in some circles to claim having AS. For example, the minute I was diagnosed a little over 2 years ago, my very obviously NT (and slightly insane) mother concluded she had to have AS too. She was determined to "join the club" as it were. I don't think those kinds of self-DX are helpful to us. Just my 2 cents.

That article made me very angry.

Better yet, have a hot branding iron rammed into their bare chest and have chemicals poured all over the burn wound!

Well it really does not matter much. What other people think they have has little effect on my life and I could care less about some person out there that may have wrongly dx themselves or who may
have and offical AS DX. Dx is useless because their is no treatment.
Maybe if someone lives in a socialist brotherhood they may get benfits but the average adult in the US has no reason to get an DX.
