@Mindsigh: Good call. I hadn't even considered that. Well, it's autumn now, and it'll be winter before long, so my immediate concern will be to protect my head against the cold, I guess.

Also, I actually received a genuine compliment from a semi-stranger today, so hurray for us cue balls!

^@auntblabby: interesting article. Maybe 20 years from now, I'll see how far they've advanced in case I want to return to my full head of hair.

the avatar is the character henry corwin from the twilight zone episode "night of the meek" where a thoroughly dissapated department store santa whose best days were long behind him, finds a unique kind of redemption at the end. anyways, for people who can't afford any kind of surgical hair treatment, there is always GLH ["Good Looking Hair"] which is a cosmetic product that thickens what hair you have left to comb over then paints the underlying scalp hair color so as to be less noticeable. there was this cat at a local record store i used to frequent who used it with his extreme combover, and close-up it was appalling but at a distance it looked ok.

One of the main things they do is hair transplants & it's the same as Bosley which is also advertized on TV. They may do them different ways but that's one of their main treatments. It's recommended to take & stay on Finasteride to help insure the new hair stays. I went to their websites & neither of them showed any locations in Vermont despite me seeing advertizements on TV so there must be some in this region but not in my state



Some theorize that blocking the protein Prostaglandin D2 would help; Clinky LInk. I read on various forums & sites that one company is working on an allergy drug that blocks PGD2. I wish that was aLOT further along; like being available now. I'm taking two meds for allergies & sinus problems as well as a nasal spray as needed & I still have some problems so if it allowed new hair to grow back I could get off Finsateride & the other things I'm on & doing(thou I would increase one thing because I like having less testosterone & increasing it would offset the lower T due to the other things but I wouldn't need to be on anything else) & I could maybe get off the antihistamine as well.
