My first episode was about one month ago, and I had a second one just last night.

In the first one, it was early morning, I wasn't scared, just having a conversation with a ghost child. He didn't talk, but I understood what he was telling me for some reason. I stopped talking to him and tried to close my eyes, he became angry and told me not to ignore him, then I heard a dog growling and a sparkling, silver colored silhouette came up to my face and stared at me. I tried to scream but all I heard was muffled moaning. I gained back control soon after.

The second one was more tamed if I remember well. I woke up in the middle of the night, panicking. "They're coming to kill us!" I thought. It was dark in most of the rooms but the colors of my sheets and the furniture were over-saturated and everything was blurry. I saw small figures running towards my door and then the fear was so intense it was all over already.

That sounds scary! I hope it won't happen to you too often.

Ehh, the longest one lasted about 1 minute, it won't be much of a pain I think.

I've had episodes of that before & they were more common when I had psych med changes or when I was emotionally stressed; like I was worried about having episodes or hating sleeping alone.

If you have other sleep problems, it might be worth seeing a doctor. I saw different doctors for years for sleep issues and never mentioned the hallucinations I had while falling asleep or waking up because I didn't know it could be a symptom of anything. Eventually, I saw a sleep specialist who actually asked about that, and I was diagnosed with narcolepsy. Some people with narcolepsy also experience sleep paralysis, though I've never had it.

I've had sleep paralysis maybe twice or thrice in my life. It was very scary because while paralyzed I thought I might never be able to move my body again.

I don't know why it happens. It seems that most people experience it sometimes but not too often.
