Does anyone openly weep when they hear a certain tune?
My personal weeper is "Lark Ascending" by Vaughn Williams. 
I LOVE this tune but I can't take it!!

ah, finally a stendahl's syndrome thread. 
there is lots of music which reduces me to a teary puddle. "Scheherazade" is one such number, especially as performed by fritz reiner and the CSO, a signature performance if there ever was one. "once I was" is another song that puts me down. I wept the first time I heard William wilde zeitler perform on his glass armonica, that is such a keening sound. "pavane pour une infante defunte" is another sad sad piece. I cried all through "AI-Artificial Intelligence" at the perils of David. 
same for "the wizard of oz" and the perils of Dorothy. she was just so good at putting sad in her voice. 
I was almost rendered catatonic at the end when the wicked witch melted, that "I'm MELTING, ooohhhhhhhhhhhhh........" did me in. I cry when I see other people cry. I can't help it.

the crown imperial march [William Walton] as played by the Eastman ensemble under Frederick fennel [RIP] with the Eastman pipe organ- what a GRAND SOUND! that gives me both stiff upper lip as well as tears. it is SO MAGNIFICENT!! !
