My mum has said at times to me "your setting yourself up for a very misrable life"

I have tried to ask what she meant but she beats around the bush a lot.

What might my mum mean by that comment?

hmm..that comment could apply to many concerns a parent may have, such as: --she thinks you don't understand the "action = consequences" equation which may result in a lifetime of setbacks from conflicts with authority. or,--she is upset because she thinks you don't care about school & grades which may result in lifelong poverty. And, when you ask her what that means & she does not answer it may be because she thinks you DO know what she means & your just trying to argue.
I don't know if this helps at all.. but hope so?
