I'm sure everyone does, of course, but I imagine Aspies have a special appreciation for the comfort of home, and a return to the usual routine...

I just got back from a trip, and as much as I love traveling, I'm SO happy to be back. :D

Do you all feel this way?

I haven't been on a long trip in a long time. But I always enjoyed being back in my old routine.
It wasn't always that way. When I was still living with my foster parent homecoming wasn't always
a pleasant thing for me. My siblings were always at each other's throats and I was always harassed by them
or my folks on account of their fighting. Now that I live by myself, returning to my lair = comfort.

Actually...

For me...
No.

I love being far away from this place I call "home". I usually feel depressed coming back after a vacation. Now I'm back to the same doldrum I loath, stuck in traffic, stuck at home, stuck with nothing beautiful, stuck with long hours and low wages. I feel more alive when traveling... coming back to this place makes me feel dead again.

I actually quite like travelling, I find the anonymity refreshing.

No, by home I mean London. I went on a trip to Milan during my uni's reading week. :)

Edit: And I agree w/ what some of you said about loving to travel for the anonymity and escape from some of the bad aspects of everyday life...

But for me, after traveling I realize how comfortable home is.

Yes--- I like to get home and fall into my bed or take a hot shower ( only scalding will do). Getting home means getting back to normal and reliving the wonderful memories of your trip.
This last vacation we took, though, was so great that there was a bit of sadness coming home--- we stayed mostly with my dear friends who made us feel at home at their home. We felt so comfortable there, unlike hotel stays. I miss the great food we got to experience on our trip, too!

Yes, coming home is always a special thing for me at the end of a holiday. The most recent one was to Holland. I loved the place and I wish I could go back again, and I also loved Tokyo, which was a pit-stop on our way to Amsterdam, despite the fact that I got horrendously sick. At the time I also had another thing to look forward to: Sophie!! Ahh, good times...! Although I did have to clear something up with her, as I promised that I would talk to her before I left, but as I was sick I couldn't! Ahh well, it was all settled in the end.

Although coming home is also kinda strange. You've been away for so long you expect something about home to be different, but there isn't, and it gives me a weird feeling in my chestal section. But the wonder of travel is brilliant (especially when you're not the one who has to drive :D)

It's a relief to come back to my computer, TV set and so on. I felt this specially after I had returned from visit in the house of my grandparents living in a small village far from civilisation.

I do feel this way after a short vacation, say less than 7 days.
If it is longer than that then coming home will be stressful as I would have made a new routine on vacation and then have to change it AGAIN.
