I do have a recipe - it's very unsophisticated (don't laugh) but still a favorite. Try it!

RUSSIAN TEA

1 cup orange tang (yes, really)
3/4 cup instant tea
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoon2 ground cloves
dash of nutmeg
cinnamon sticks

Mix ingredients well and store in an airtight container with a few cinnamon sticks - occasionally invert to mix spices (they do settle). To serve: 2 rounded teaspoons Russian Tea per cup of boiling water, or to taste. Serve with cinnamon stick.

And, according to my calendar, Thanksgiving is Thursday, 11.22!

I don't celebrate the holiday though....

This sounds delicious. I love tea. Is this truly Russian, or is this just a name? (Just because, Russia is yet another of my fixations.)

I am unsure...I live in Alaska (the Interior) and this has always been served as Russian Tea. There is a strong Russian influence in AK, of course, and many Russian Orthodox. I have seen tea served in Samovars.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't know what I'm doing yet. I'm in England now, so unfortunately I miss out on the festivities and have to do it all myself. I'll probably end up cooking for my flatmates or something. But I always make my family's special recipe for corn, which we got from a restaurant we used to frequent. It's like corn in this sweet, creamy sauce...I love it. :)

This year our daughter spends it with her mom.

I'll just hang out by myself on Wrong Planet!

Maybe have pizza.

I don't celebrate most holidays, and by celebrate I mean recognize the original reason for the holiday.

The over-commercialization of holidays in America turns these occasions into money-pits begging me to spend money for things I don't need, other's don't need and more food than I can eat!

OH, wait.. I remembered that I want to go to the Food Bank and volunteer to serve meals to the homeless!

I recently dropped off blankets, coats and stuff at the rescue mission... got a hearty, "Bless You!", even though the guy behind the counter didn't ask if I wanted to be blessed!

One down already. visited my parents and five sisters. Lots of nieces and nephews there and mostly a blur all day. I am already tired of holiday food. I love to cook it, but i really dont like to eat it, because it is so delicious i cant stop. I always eat too much and then my insides get all irritated the next day. I have two more to go and then i am home free for a while until xmas. I am not fond of turkey, so i get one bite to say i had some. ITS ALL ABOUT THE PIE!! !! !
