Madeleine L'Engle and Kurt Vonnegut, among many. Those two come to mind because they've died fairly recently...which made me sad even though I knew I was unlikely ever to meet them.

Sir Isaac Newton's been a personal hero of mine for many years. I think we would have a great deal in common.

Another historical person I'd like to meet is Thomas Jefferson because he was well-educated and intelligent.
