You have a point there, there are others in his family with the same "thing",
so he would not be alone at all.
I think in my worst years, if someone had suggested I had Asperger's I would probably not have wanted to hear it, as I would not have liked any suggestion that I was somehow diseased or inferior. I knew I was different, but that's not the same thing. I think what I would've liked most is to have someone my own age who understood me and shared some of my same odd personality traits. I had plenty of adults who claimed to understand me, but as an adult, telling a teenager you understand him is roughly equivalent to talking to a brick wall. If your nephew is having problems, you might try finding some aspies his own age for him to be friends with.
