One presumes that the body doesn't really decay.
In most of the voodoo style stories, they don't.

It's only in movies etc, where they show decay... and those are different types of zombies. You're quite right there - I don't know why they don't fall apart.

It's the same with those fighting skeletons in the sinbad movies... where were their muscles?

I have constant dreams about zombies, in which I'm either fighting them off with ease or desperately trying to hide. My psychologist think it represents my social anxiety.

I may be crazy, actually I am crazy, but I wouldn't mind seeing a zombie epidemic.

Yes, I'm that bored.......

I've had zombie dreams before. My research into analyzing it led me to this insight: zombies are really just going through the motions. They are passionless, dead. It may represent not only social anxiety but a deep-seated fear that if you give in to social rules/norms, you yourself will become dead and passionless.

Ugh, I always think that. Like "how the HELL are they supposed to move with no muscles" like in Pirates of The Caribbean or, say, Clash of the Titans. It really ruins things for me. I'm glad it's not just me.

I have a dream dictionary, The Complete Idiot's Guide: Dream Dictionary. It has a section on zombies and part of it is about what you said. I'll write the entire section. To properly cite it, it's on page 92 in the XYZ section (of course).

"1. If you dream of seeing a zombie, you feel like you aren't involved in your own life. Are you on automatic pilot? 2. If you dream of being chased or attacked by a zombie, you feel threatened by monotony, boredom, and habit. Maybe it's time for a life change. 3. If you dream you are zombie, you feel you have no power in your life."

Number 2 is definitely my biggest one. I dream constantly of being attacked and chased by zombies. And at one time I did feel that following the social norms would destroy my individuality. I really don't feel that way anymore but the dreams persist. I do need a life change though, and badly. I'm working on it but it'll take years. :x

As for Number 1, I feel in control of my life but maybe there is something I'm missing. I've never once dreamed that I was a zombie myself so number 3 doesn't apply.

4. If you dream about deliberately going out to find and attack zombies, you've been playing too much Resident Evil or watching too many Paul Anderson films.

I know that in a Resident evil movie there was a huge murder of mutated crows from eating infected meat where they were kind of zombified. Well a lot of zombies do not move very quickly so there may not be much stress, though I would think that since they do not sleep then there would be no time for the body to fix any muscle damage that would hapen over time, and to me this should mean that they should have a fairly short lifespan. But then that could explain the hunger to feed as they need to replenish itself quickly, and makes me wonder that they would probably turn on each other. Plus in terms of body decomposition the eyes should become unuseable after a period of time.

Does anybody here have a zombie plan? There are two kinds of people. Those who have a plan for when hoardes of flesh-eating zombies take over the earth... and those who don't. The latter are called... dinner.

I don't have a zombie plan... I have thirty seven different zombie plans!! ! Now that's preperation!! !

Good example of what not to do is in Shawn of the dead. Well suposedly zombies have memories of what happen and often will go to places they usualy go, so the best place would be secret, where no one goes though able to keep a lot of suplies.
