To me, music.... whoa.. this hard to explain. To me, music is a form of fuel for me, or money to my mind. It really helps keep me going. Sometimes it's so awesome it's like a form on mental sex. I prefer music that has no lyrics, because to me the music itself says a lot more than lyrics. And with just music wha the music is trying to say is more open to your imagination. I can even picture the music in my mind. Sometimes it looks like flashes of light, sometimes it looks like something else undescribable. Even though most people are fond of certain bands or genres, I'm not like that at all. Usually, when I buy a CD with 15 songs there is only 1 that I like. And even though, I have about 700 songs on my itouch, I only listen to about 15 of them! I realy don't know. there's only certain songs that really ring true to my emotions and I listen to that same song almost daily for years to come. Does anyone else have this fixation? Can psychology explain why people can be addicted to certain songs?

My all time favorites are "Things Can Only Get Better" by Howard Jones. Even though I don't agree with the title or the lyrics, there's something about me that really relates to the music.

And I especially like "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" by Genesis.

"How Long" by Information Society

"Call Me" by Edenfeld.

And a lot of pieces by Lori Line

Is there any site or test that can determine why you are triggered to certain pieces of music?

So do I. There've been many otherwise excellent songs which got ruined for me because the lyrics were stupid.

Perhaps you could try Last.fm's similar artists/songs feature + Soulseek

e.g. http://www.last.fm/music/Genesis/_/Toni ... t,+Tonight

Phil Collins - Don't Lose My Number
Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
Mike & The Mechanics - Silent Running
Yes - Owner of a Lonely Heart
