ok I've been wondering about this for a while...

I get double-checked regularly on airports, my bags often get searched and I'm generally considered "suspicious looking".

but then again, out of the 4 times that I traveled with regular airlines I got upgraded to Business Class 3 times (for free).

I recently talked to a friend of a friend who works as an air hostess and she told me that they usually pick people who seem the least like potential trouble-makers... that makes sense because after the initial stress of crossing the security check I get very relaxed and mellow, I sit patiently and watch the planes take of and land and I never get irritated by delays (actually, I like them, gives me more time to sit at the airport and watch planes).

and all 3 times I got upgraded was when there's been a considerable delay and 99% of the travellers were getting agitated and angry.

I guess my point is- don't you think there's something about us (ASDers) that makes us look more "cool" so to speak?

I'm curious about other people's experiences with airlines and airports in general.

I've never got a free upgrade but I've been on business class before and it was cool! :)

However, I do think I get angry less easily than other people in certain situations but in other situations the opposite is true. It's complicated.

When I was younger, I would often fly alone to visit my dad in Texas a few times a year. The planes would often get too crowded, so I was moved up to first class a fair amount of times. It just became routine after a while. I, of course, never complained about it. One time, I even kept the little salt and pepper shakers they gave us with our dinners. 8)

nope, can't say I have.... on a plane that is

however I was once upgraded to first class for free on a train out of York heading to Manchester Airport (run by the now defunct Northern Spirit/Arriva Trains Northern transpenninexpress), as it was severely delayed due to a "possession" on the lines or something like that, and I, and the group I was with at the time, as a result missed the flight but the airline were kind enough to let our group onto the next flight, although on the plane we had to make do with standard class, same applied to the train ride from Manchester airport after landing back in the UK some 2 weeks later
