The pain is bad but vicodin (probably what they gave you or a knockoff) is excellent for the pain. I loved that stuff. It made me feel so relaxed and happy :)

I was prescribed hydrocodone (same stuff in vicodin only sans the acetaminophen). I found it absolutely dreadful; especially harsh on the stomach. Better than the alternative I suppose. I wonder if vicodin is significantly different or if I'm just weird on that one :chin:

Vicodin is exactly the same as hydrocodone(generic version), and contains the same amount of acetaminophen, so it wouldn't help to switch. The only difference is the shape and stamp on the pill.

Well, hydrocodone is actually a single drug, although I'm not familiar with how the name is used in marketing, and you are right that what I was prescribed was probably the same as Vicodin as I've looked it up now and hydrocodone is not available in pure form in the United States due to regulation.

Ooooh, I could get myself into trouble with that stuff.

I think I had a generic brand too.. I'm not sure. It did make me quite sick though but only if I tried to move at all lol. If I stayed laying on my back I would be fine but if I sat up or tried to walk or anything I would start getting nauseous and eventually hurl. I didn't know it was going to affect me that way and ended up having a rather messy and unfun trip to Albertson's after I got home from the dentist lol.

I thought laughing gas was really old technology. :?

The best thing phantom is to get some ice packs, ideally so you can shape it around your jaw. When I had mine out I found that was the best thing to numb the pain and ice should also keeps the swelling down.

Hey take some pictures of yourself, you will really swell up.

Don't take to many drugs, I went into shock for doing that.
