Wow! I'm really surprised at the amount of people that voted blue! Most people I meet have brown, I thought brown would be winning by a landslide.

Mine are mostly brown but with tinges of green so I voted hazel. (PS I am of mostly German descent. My dad, full German, had blue eyes and my mom, of mixed European descent, has the same as me)

Brown like my deceased grandfather eyes.
Both of my parents have blue eyes, though.
And the amount of people who voted blue really surprised me, as they shouldn't be a majority according to genetics.

Mine were blue when I was young, but now they're sort of...Idunno...gray I guess? With a few other colors mixed in there.

Mine are vague. I see blue, green and grey, looking in the mirror. Greenbluegreyish, yep.... that's the colour. (Jeez, even with the colour of my eyes I cannot be categorized. Story of my life but.... that's suits me perfectly fine, btw)

Mine are brown. Once someone said they were green, but everybody else says they are brown.

That's exactly like mine but without the green. I think mine could either be blue or gray.

It is interesting how a lot aspies seem to have blue eyes. My dad had extremely blue eyes and I suspect he was an aspie too.

I think the reason for all the blue responses is that people with blue eyes are more likely to respond, because they think they're special or something. Brown is more common, so most people with brown eyes probably skip it.

That could be what's going on.

Blue is no more special than green or hazel, people!

My eyes are a bit chaotic, but I think Blue is the best description.

Ditto. Depends on the lighting, but grey, with greyblue/bits of greenishgrey ( so they are the kind of murky colour of the north sea)
The only interesting thing is they have a pronounced navy blue ring forming the border of the iris. And were described as "psycho" eyes

Light brown eyes here, in the summer I sometimes get a thin dark (darker then the brown) green ring around the edge of the iris which this ring is normally dark grey in winter.

Also, I recently found out that you must have at least a little bit of German or Irish in you to have green eyes. If you do have green eyes, and you're not of either one of those descents, please let me know!

Common misconception. People of Nordic backgrounds are more likely to have coloured eyes than other races due to the fact that they have spent a long time in cold environments. In warmer environments it tends to disappear as people grow older due to Melanie production. Coloured eyes such as blue or green can be caused by a number of different genetic mutations and is not dependant on race or ethnicity.
