Aspie women with no family or friends
Just a post to see how many women with AS have no partner or close friends? I attend Aspie groups once a month or so and have met a few people who I get along reasonably ok with but have no close friends. I am a 31 year old single women and have no family near me. I have no one to ring in an emergency really. My parents live 3 hours away. I am a loner and like it but have a difficult time making friends especially close friends. Are there women out there who live without close friends and family and how do you get on?
I, too, live alone with no one to call in an emergency. My closest family members are 3K miles away. I spend entire days without talking to anyone and stay busy my cataloging my digital classical music collection. I'm also writing a novel which I estimate should be done by April of next year. Over the years I've become more and more avoidant. I'd like to attend Asperger's meetup groups (to which I belong) but just can't find the oomph to take me there. A sad sack, indeed.

I have lived in the same city all my life but when it comes to listing personal references or emergency contacts, I draw a blank. I am married but my husband is like me in this regard. I don't know who to list as an alternative person who is allowed to pick my son up from preschool except for one elderly aunt who doesn't even know how to buckle his carseat.

I wish I could find an Adult womens Aspie group!
I live one town over from my childhood hometown, but have essentially cut my siblings out of my life (there's a whole thread back there somewhere here on WP about THAT)
My Aspergers has very much hindered friendships for me. I want friends but people don't seem to want me around.
Was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease & am in a monthly support group for that. They seem a friendly lot but I've gotten the feeling that I've been "left out of the loop" on some of the group emails and now I'm beginning to think of dropping that group (& I've been there a sum total of 3 times!)
