Not quite sure if this is the right place to post this, except I'm a woman and it is sort of an appearance/dating-related thing.

I broke my nose at some point, not quite sure how, but it's very crooked and has a large bump in it, very noticeable in profile. I've been told I have a deviated septum that could be repaired with surgery. I want to do it, mostly for aesthetics, also because I've been told a deviated septum can cause sleep problems, and I often feel not as rested as I should after 8 hours of sleep, though it's not a huge problem and could also be caused by depression/anxiety.

Does anyone have any input on this? I've attached a picture. If I leave it the way it is, do you think it will have a significant impact on, say, my dating life (not that I have a dating life--the nose is probably a significant contributing factor but I know I have bigger problems). If I change it mostly for aesthetic reasons, does that make me shallow?

I don't think it looks bad enough to effect your dating life, I certainly can't imagine wanting to date somebody and thinking "gee, I would, if only they didn't have that nose"! Wanting to change something about yourself doesn't make you shallow, though. It's your body and you are free to do with it what you will.

I have had mine reset
I also had a deviated septum

I had an opp and have mildly better function out of that nostril

I had some knocks in the nose over the year and its still broken but looks fine. nevertheless i retained a large worry about it being less than what it was. I relate to your post but in general I think your appearance is a lot nicer than you believe. also the boost of having it done depends on how easy you can afford it and how good its done. I just had a basic "reset" not a reshape.

I think you are good looking.

You're a very attractive woman, and I wouldn't worry about it too much for appearances.
A warning though, if you've been told that it's simply your septum that needs to be repaired then they will likely try to book you in for a septoplasty which is an internal procedure that does not affect that appearance of your nose in the least (unless you have a moron for a surgeon), just the quality of life. For this they will put you in touch with an otolaryngologist (aka an ENT). If you are serious about the possibility of a rhinoplasty then ask for a referral specifically for a PLASTIC SURGEON, as my experience with an insurance covered ENT was nothing less than traumatizing. He did a complete hack job on repairing my septum and I was left with an abundance of scar tissue up my nose and different sized nostrils.
I urge you to throughly consider your options and how badly you want this done. It is a very painful/uncomfortable procedure regardless of the route that you choose to take (septo vs. rhino) and there is a very long healing period.
