Time to burn our bras?
According to this study, wearing bras are detrimental to breasts (unless you're forty-five with three kids
) It sounds way too painful, personally. It's a French study with a fairly small sample(300), but it was followed up on for fifteen years.
Are bras bad for you?--The Week.com
Bras are the most annoying thing ever. The tags and back hooks that make my back itch are bad enough but the straps are constantly needing adjusting. Sport bras are too tight around the shoulders and back and too loose around the boobs! And just to make a point, I just took off mine.
(But I'm at home so it's all good.)
(Please forgive the intrusion.)
According to the article cited by the OP...
It seems to me (as well as the person who wrote the article) that Rouillon is telling young, svelte, childless women to go braless whenever possible - especially in public.
While I do not dispute his methods, his conclusion may be somewhat biased and self-serving ...

I've read before that bras can make the muscles that support the breasts weaken and atrophy making them sag without the bra.
I guess for women that had a bunch of kids or really huge breasts those muscles just aren't going to hold them up no matter what. I don't see how it would be dangerous for them to not wear bras except it might be uncomfortable and not something most people would want to look at. I remember seeing an older fat lady that used to live down the street from me and she must not have been wearing a bra because they were literally down to her waist.
Actually, they're ligaments - "Cooper's Ligaments", to be exact.
I first read about "Cooper's Droop" in an Erma Bombeck column back in the 1960s.

I think if anything needs to be burned, it's high heels. Most women claim its better in the long run to wear a bra than to not wear a bra, but there are alternatives to footwear besides high heels. Many women think their calves look nicer with heels on, but exercising with weights can fix this easily. And runners usually have good calves, heels or not, weights or not. But overall, bra, heel, nude, to each her own.

I've just heard about this, and I don't quite understand why they're saying bras are bad for your body. I mean, they keep your breasts in place, and they seem to fit comfortably, in most cases. Also, I agree with Mindslave about the high heels; those things hurt my feet, which is why I never wear them.
