Personal body shavers? Recommendations?
Well, first let me apologize if this makes anyone uncomfortable...I just don't have enough girlfriends that I can talk to about stuff like this, so I thought I'd ask here...
I can't deal with waxing...too painful to do myself (tried a couple of times) and too expensive for someone else to do it...besides the obvious feeling weird about having someone else do it...Then shaving? Well, I am horrible...I get bumps and cuts all the time and of course, it's not very smooth...So I've been reading about "personal shavers" and found numerous reviews but they all are contradictory, which then makes me wonder if the good reviews are just the companies themselves who post them...
So, does anyone who likes to go "bare" down there have any recommendations? I will greatly appreciate it...
For a really smooth and fairly long lasting "down there" a hot wax product called Waxcellence is really good. It originates from australia. Yes, it does hurt, but not unbearably so, and in no time at all it gets easier to wax. Just be careful to follow the instructions so as not to burn yourself, the heat softens the hair and opens the pores to make the job easier. I use it fortnightly and also underarms. The growth also gets more sparse quite quickly. I used to use a wet razor, this is so much better.
To be honest the shaver I use is a small hand held one intended for pets. It's battery operated and works wonderfully

I think the epilator is pure torture. I start bleeding because of it.
Do you hold the skin taut? If you don't, it's more likely to raise blood. Also make sure you don't have goosebumps, otherwise the epilator can sometimes try to pull off the bumps!
That being said, I sugared for years (legs, anyway, not the other bits - sugar isn't strong enough) before I started epilating. I'm also a natural blonde, so my body hair isn't as robust as most brunettes'.
If you can stand it, I vote epilator all the way. I have a SERIOUS sensory thing against shaving, so my second choice would be waxing. To me, the pain is way more tolerable than the sensation of a razor scritting across my flesh. Shudder.
