Seems like there are a lot of posters bashing neurotypicals today. This is rather ridiculous for several reasons:

1) NTs use these forums. They are a valuable resource and support for many of us. Making them feel unwelcome is not appreciated and is against the spirit of this site.
2) If you are truly bothered by what you perceive as NTs being mean, the answer is not to be mean back. That puts you on the same level. I would further say that as a group that is so picked on, you should understand what this feels like. Picking on others as soon as you get the opportunity shows nothing but your own weakness.
3) If you really think it is only NTs as a group that dislikes you, and that there is some kind of "Us against Them" mentality shared here, think again. You are now officially on notice that there is someone with AS who doesn't like you either until you change your thoughtless ways.

So knock it off.

I agree ViperaAspis and I would ask the bashers exactly how they would define an NT because I think you can't narrowly define billions of people by the actions of a relative few.

Hear here!
-or-
Here? Hear!

People are people, and we just do not all have our boogers in the same nostril.

Bashing is counterproductive!

Expressing frustration can be done without being mean or abusive.

Thank you! I've made a couple topics like this, but neither was as concise and well-worded as this one.

TWO WOLVES

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

"One is Bad- It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

"The other is Good -It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

to be honest, I didn't even know there was a label for people who aren't on the spectrum until I was on this board. I find labeling everyone who isn't on the spectrum a bit ridiculous. I don't think anyone is "neurotypical." A "typical" wiring of neurons isn't exactly an easy thing to define as everyone is wired differently based on genetics and/or environmental factors. Everyone has different interests, ways of dealing with problems, dislikes, pet peeves, things, etc. regardless of diagnosis or no diagnosis.

brittany I hear you. I've never felt typical. Sometimes I feel like the most unique person on earth.
