Often I used to talk louder than most people because I wanted to feel alive; I needed stimulation and the sound was stimulation. Others seemed to think that either I had a hearing problem, I got too excited or I didn't know the difference and had to be taught and then I would stop talking loud! The third one pisses me off!

I have also mumbled when I was embarrassed or lazy and then really embarrassed about my laziness.

I am loud - people always say they can hear me across the room even when I am talking quietly.

When I was younger & got angry, people were forever telling me not to shout at them. My reaction was always "You think that's shouting? I was only talking loudly, I haven't even started shouting yet!"

I often mumble... usually when I can't be arsed...
but sometimes just out of naturally mumbling... it annoys me when I have to repeat myself... :/

I'm not real loud usually. I'll talk to myself sometimes, just commenting on things going on around me.

I talk very loudly. I don't mean to; it just happens when I'm excited.

I can relate. I do that still, hate being shusshed. you try very hard to explain, to understand and they dont get it, they just dont get it. My gf complains about me talking her ear off about it, about autism and aspergers and how me finding out this is most likely what has been wrong with me all my life, has changed me. Oh god, that is so horrible. So tired of pretending, that I dont and she said I changed, that she understands why nts sometimes leave their aspie counterpart after diagnosis because they get obsessed adn change. I . . oh well I dont know how to deal with it. I just dont talk, and try very hard no to screw up, even though i dont understand why some things need to be such way, I try, and get frustrated, and cry.

I used to shout when I was a wee little lad (well, maybe not quite shout, but talk excessively loudly), now I mumble incomprehensively, now that's over-compensation! 8)

Ditto,it is often when I get told to "settle down" or "take is easy".How is my enthusiasm misread as anger?

For me, it depends on how I'm feeling and what I'm talking about. When I'm excited, I tend to talk loudly without realising it (people will tell me to be quiet and so I'll lower my voice, and then seconds later they'll tell me I'm talking too loud again ;^^ ), but when I feel shy or when I'm asking for something, I talk quite quietly. :)

Yea, I mumble alot I guess. I don't notice myself doing it. I just don't talk very loud. I find it very annoying when I have to repeat myself.

I am of the mumbler variety, if I say anything at all.

And that I can attest to

I am loud or mumbling.
I have had both accusations thrown at me by my mother.
'Why do you have to speak so loudly, Kate?'
or 'Can you stop mumbling, I can't hear a word you're saying'

I speak too loudly, apparently - until I'm feeling awkward and self-conscious then I'll mumble (and possibly sulk a tiny bit.)
