I read the thread "Typing ... With 2 Fingers! " and Aeturnus was wondering if this odd behavior is an aspie think ....

In gerneral , don' t you think that we all are exaggerating in considering every odd action we do as "aspie think" ?

To a certain extent. Like on some of the parent groups - it often doesn't occur to them that some of their kids behavior is not related to ASD, but just regular kid growing up stuff. So everything tends to be seen as a factor of ASD instead of just something people do. For example - My husband put a stinky fish from the aquarium in the kitchen garbage and I was not pleased when I found it. Which would most likely bother alot of people - not just me. However - my not being happy about it was blamed on my OCD. So, I think that stuff happens whenever a label is involved.

I for one don't touch type, have never touch typed and in fasct am very adept at using all of my fingers at once, very fast, while typing.

But that doesn't mean I'm not an Aspie. It's highly unlikely that each individual Aspie will fulfil all of these little details that get posted on here, like whether they touch type or whatever. The criteria for whether someone has AS or not are impairments in social interaction and interpersonal communication, and lack of 'play' being substituted by narrow intense interests, sometimes also clumsiness/dyspraxia. And that's it.

So, minor details such as touch typing etc. are not exactly prerequisites for having AS, though I find it's fun to compare experiences which are often similar. :)

Absolutely. Before I posted on here I saw some of the threads and found people talking about things that I thought I was the only person who thought like that or did that. So it is interesting to see if anyone can relate.
