I've had the sound of, well, like lots of crickets as long as I can remember, since at least age 10, when I realized not everyone else heard the noise. It's always just louder than anything I'm hearing, and the added noise makes my hearing sensitive. Mine never goes away, but it does change; sometimes I get pitched sounds, too.
Same thing with my eyes, in a way, I have a sort of static overlaid on everything (like old television snow). The same thing happens to my sense of touch, and I think perhaps the other two, although I'm not sure how I'd know with taste and smell.
I'm not sure whether it's sensory processing issues, or something's physically wrong with the sensory tissue because of my connective tissues disorder. As far as I know, I'm the only one in my family with this (although my brother has always had a problem with the way velvet feels).
