This story needs to be told again and again until something changes. appearently in australia you can pour solvent on a co worker and deliberately light them on fire and be free from prosecution - beware out there ! especially in the trades.

That is truly terrible even if the law is hopeless I would not expect the company to be too.

The thread title reminded me of a story about Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath setting drummer Bill Ward's socks on fire, not exactly a prank but probably literal-mindeness gone too far as a result of Mr. Ward inquiring of Iommi's intent as expressed prior.

Even that was a one-time incident, it mystifies me how the employee in this case could have a known history of engaging in malicious horseplay, especially in regard to the misuse of carcinogenic chemicals

It really is appalling. Nick seems like a courageous guy, with the presence of mind that saved him from major burns. I hope he finds himself a job where people treat him decently.

Whats worse is that the media and google give the story very little exposure
Very hard to find the story on google and only one news site source, and an autistic blogger......
