i guess he has NPD, because these people have

- a need for power and attention, they kill for attention in extreme cases
- an illusion of grandness, of being special
- treats others as not equal persons

according from the things i got from the news, this anders had the following traits

- he wrote some manifest with lots of crazy stuff in it, but most of the content is copied from the unabomber, but interestingly enough, he didn't cite the person from which he copied it
- he also had some vision of himself, having a great uniform, many medals and so on, being something extraordinary
- all this crazyness makes no sense, when you take the content, but it does, when you assume that he shot so many and bombed the city to get attention

Not only did he not mention the various right-wing source materials that make up large parts of his manifesto but some of his postings on message boards (or postings believed to be his) seem to contain lies. He claimed that he was a millionaire on one forum. That was not the case.

I think it will turn out that he is an attention-seeking 'sane' insane nutter and there isn't much more to it than that.

However and irrespective of this, the politicians don't help themselves.

Was there ever a girfriend or boyfriend? Is he a virgin?

I have never watched the tv series 'True Blood', but from what I have read and heard regarding the program, I find myself thinking that True Blood is something that wouild be greatly enjoyed by a person with NPD. Similarly to the tv program 'Dexter', when a person passionately describes their interest in the program, I find myself analysing their behaviour for signs of narcissism. I am not saying that all viewers of these program are likely NPD (though I would not object to their being monitored, and something done as an effort to prevent them massacring people), but in this case the other behaviours exhibited by Breivik are congruent, to me.

Aspies are born Aspies. Narcissists aren't born narcissists. They are a product of their environment.

He makes some detailed references to "partying" but says he's never had time for a long term relationship.

He mentions that his US-based sister bugs him about getting a girlfriend. He claims to like that sister but reveals some really embarrassing details about her sexual history.

He classifies his step-mother as a class B traitor due to her previous work in government. Though he is fond of her he makes it clear that he wouldn't hold it against other "knights" if they executed her.

Why do Aspies here always relate to people who go on murderous rampages?

I kind of agreed that Jared Loughner could have been, but mostly because of the way his old friends described him. He wasn't always psychotic.

I don't know much about Anders except that he is most likely a piece of garbage.

Why do you say that? Have you not been reading? Quite a few have stated we think he is insane.

Because every time something like this happens, people here are wondering if the person was an Aspie a few days later.

Yes, I have read most of the replies. But if people here didn't relate to him , this thread wouldn't exist. I wasn't really asking those who have already replied.

whether you guys like it or not he has a bunch of traits similar to us.

you can put your head in the sand and try to ignore it. or you can try to understand. i think there's a generalized spectrum of disorders of PDD which a large percentage of the world's population fits into.

it makes no difference to me if he's classified with autism because there is zero chance i would do something similar. i'm more concerned about understanding our condition better and improving everyone's quality of life. maybe we have some keys to unlocking guys like this norway killer to avoid it in future.

I kind of agree it's NPD, if anything. Plus a Norwegian psychiatrist on NPR used the word narcissist several times when talking about this guy.

That he believes he's the greatest hero of the age and a savior seems like a red flag.

Yes, his manifesto makes me effing sick.

I can be apathetic toward crime, sometimes, but the fact the he would try to justify it is absolutely disgusting.
