Too true. A web search for "autistic" and "Breivik" brings you straight to forums where people claiming to be on the spectrum are proposing that he is autistic. And the same when you search for many other serial monsters and political tyrants.

Well, why then did you use the word 'all' when clearly this isn't the case. You already had the answer to your question.

Not an expert but this NPD with fanatic tendancies seems more likely.
His loner status seems to have been a deliberate choice.
He seems to do too much posing.

I pose the question would ABB and Hitler would likely have the same diagnosis?

How is anyone to know that you are using a colloquialism rather than meaning "the whole of" or "the greatest number of". I'm not being nit-picky, but your assumption lends the sentence a whole new meaning.

The thing is, I can see this being used to make life difficult for those that might have commonalities with him and parts of his manifesto.

For instance:

- I have visited the EDL forum a few times. The EDL link has been heavily pushed here in Britain by the left-wing press, though it seems to not be substantial. (Though I never posted there and am more or less an occasional visitor - I don't have much time for the EDL in any case, they're mostly football hooligans.)
- I would probably vote/be a member of the Progress Party if I lived in Norway. (The BBC even tried to heap blame on FrP for what Breivik had done when in fact he stopped being a member in 2007.)
- I agree with him that politicians have utterly ignored the public on immigration, especially from Muslim countries.
- I used to play violent video games and like violent films.
- I've never had a girlfriend.
- I'm considered very 'odd'.

And so on.

There are a lot of people out there with very extreme views, some of whom he's probably conversed with who are probably now a) stunned at what's happened and b) shitting themselves - i.e. of local or international police attention - that they had been talking to a future mass murderer when they had nothing to do with it. They might just be loonies on an Internet message board, or shaven-headed morons who go out and march sometimes... whatever they are, they're not likely to go out and murder people in a rampage.



Then you've a lot to learn. Supporters of scumbags will attempt to justify all kinds of vile crimes.

I'm just saying that his trying to justify what he did makes me sick.

I'm saying that there are most likely parts of his 'manifesto' that lots of people would agree with. There are lots of bits of his manifesto that are most likely batshit crazy that very few people would agree with.



People will justify themselves. People related to them will try to justify them if they have a common cause - thankfully, not in this case. Even his own father wished the guy had just killed himself rather than create that amount of misery.



Point still applies though.

If your a loner forumite, without a girlfriend, on the spectrum, who is often thinking of ways to improve humanity, because your life is s**t, of course you would identify with him. Doenst mean I agree with him or his views or would emulate his actions

What I'm trying to say that an awful lot of people would agree with at least some of what is in his manifesto. Probably millions of voters in Europe would agree with at least some of the points he makes - about mass-immigration, about the EU, about other things. Those voters would then read everything else in his manifesto and conclude that he was a total effing nutcase.

Hell, a lot of people might read Mein Kampf and agree with bits of that even. The vast majority of it would repulse many people though.

And that's the difference.
