Hi everyone,

Thought I would introduce myself. My name is Daniel. I'm 28 years old and, after living in a home for troubled children over a few weeks, I was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. About 5 years ago I saw aspergers Google blogs that made me meltdown into a major depression, experienced what I would say is a depersonalisation episode and seeked help. I did'nt go through with the help and sunk deeper into Cannabis smoking and now I can't get rid of it without crying and pacing so 2 weeks ago I decided to make a difference! I decide to cut Gluten and casein out of my diet and take vitamin b complex, magnesium, omega 3, and some other nice supplements. I felt great and had loads of energy, but then the doctor prescribed Citalopram. Even after 2 daily doses of 20mg I felt I could go into a crowded small talk place and be comfortable, but my emotional scale was shrinking. This is actually a good thing but I also got palpitations (bit worried) I cant sleep on it im too wired so I wanted to wait 36 hours to take it in the morning but after 25 hours since the last dose I had AWFUL withdrawal. After 3rd dose I decided to stop for now as I took it knowing nothing about it.
If anyone can tell me if its worth going on antidepressant drugs or just stick to my diet it would be very helpful. I really do not know what to do because I think being doped up on this drug after a month or two will help me build a social life someone help me.

P.S. someone tell me how to register my login name for the chat, even after registering a free nickname i cant get it to work. now ive registered too many nicks to my email address

anyhoo hello everyone and I hope to make some new friends.

I am on Citalopram and it has made a huge differnce. It is funny you should say that about getting wired, because the same thing has happened to me and I never connected it with my medication.

Your emotional scale shrinking could be a problem. I know how much of a relief it is to feel less, but if you start feeling "flat emotionally, like nothing however extreme can get to you, you may want to ask to try a different drug.

i don't know you, so I can't advise you, but whatever you do, don't just stop taking an SSRI. You have to taper off of it.
