I do 10k every other morning, and have for almost 15 years. It feeds my need for routine, and helps tremendously with daily frustrations: anything that's bugging me comes right to the surface and gets confronted. I call it my "free therapy". :D

Varsity swim team in high school. I used to bike a lot. Now I walk a lot.

I used to volunteer to do cross-country at school - it was either that or what we called "Reject Soccer" i.e. the one with all the kids who were so bad at team sports that they'd never be picked for the school teams.

In "Reject Soccer" we had the psycho Games Teacher, who seemed to want to punish us for making him waste his energy. :(

In Cross Country, we had the teacher who couldn't be bothered. They sent us off and counted us back. We had lots of pleasant walks in the countryside
