I tend to have things planned out well in advance even though this strategy has not aided me in attaining any sort of wealth or success,
still, every now and again I will do something entirelly off the wall and right now :D

I'm a strange combination of very impulsive yet very cautious... that sounds totally weird and contradictory, doesn't it? I mean I act on impulse, but I'm also always imagining worst-case scenarios and analyzing everything as a response to that, to make sure I don't do something dangerous or risky.

I have to say the same about myself. I think of myself as very cautious because I'm afraid of everything and I try to imagine all possibilities in a situation so I can prepare for them. However, my husband revealed that he considers me very impulsive. Which is weird, because he's super-impulsive so I thought he'd say that I was super-NON-impulsive. He's the thrill-seeking, roller-coaster-riding, going to raves until 7am type. He actually told me that I have "impulse control problems."

I definitely don't buy things impulsively though. I agonize about every penny I spend. But I think that comes from years of being really poor.

I'm very impulsive in small things, which usually are connected with my emotional/sensory needs. Especially when it comes to buying flowers, candles, glass figurines and liquid clocks, or gifts for my friends. Or books. I come into a store, see something I like or something a friend might like, and can't resist buying it, even if it costs a lot. Then I may regret it afterwards. I buy postcards on random impulse, and then have them lie about in a box gathering dust because I keep forgetting to send them.

I've become more thoughtful lately, mostly because I'm making a large effort to keep myself from purchasing things I could do without. But I still overspend and still am terrible with money on the whole.

I don't think I'm impulsive when it comes to more serious things, unless I'm in a state of shock or something (or manic).
