Tinnitis Anyone? (Ringing In The Ears)

Just curious if Tinnitis might be more pronounced in persons on the Spectrum given sensitivity issues.

I have it all the time. Wish I didn't, but there's nothing that stops it, all I can do is mask it with music or white noise, and try to not to focus on it.

BTW, an app called simplynoise works very well in this regard.

I have tinnitus too. Fairly low level though so it doesn't bother me too much, but the background whistle is always there.

I've had it chronically since I was a little kid.

i have it as well, can't function at all with no background noise. but If there is background noise then its not a problem

It is "real" tinnitis (presuming it's normally caused by some disorder of the ear) or is it just our sensitivity to things in that we hear something not there because are brains are processing every little sound around us?

I've had a high pitched ring for as long as I can remember - I usually only hear it when there is complete silence and can even make it sound "louder" if I concentrate hard enough, but normally I just tune it out

I have ringing in the ears when I'm more sound sensitive or I am in the affect of a migraine. Its mild but noticeable when its quiet, but get a short term ringing every so foten.

I have it. It can be very loud for me sometimes and other times it goes away. I used to have it a lot more. But when it comes it can be quite loud. I usually hear high pitches. I don't think I can remember a time that I did not have it.

Had tubes as a very very young child which caused this.
Had this issue my entire life. Until I started working at a VA where this diagnosis is common, I didn't even know it was a thing. I always thought people had an incredibly loud ringing in their ears.
