Why are neurotypicals so stubborn?

Why do they think that their perception and method of relations are the only ones that are valid?

Addendum: I know not all NTs are like this, but it seems that they tend to take it for granted that theirs is the most valid way. And I know that we have difficulties in some areas such as language, motor skills, etc, but no one is good at everything.

As an autistic person, I am pretty sure I am more certain I am right and far less willing to compromise than any NT person.

SOME NT's can be stubborn, but that's down to personality.

I see stubbornness, complacency, and being attached more to a belief or an opinion that what's behind it among all subcultures and among all disorders. It wouldn't be so bad if more people were more interested in learning and improvements than harmony, familiarity, and easiness.

I would abandon a belief immediately if it was proven to not be accomplishing what I wanted it to, and I like when people challenge what I think intelligently. I don't mind being called irrational or dramatic during an argument if it's true and can be shown. This is neither NT nor ASD.

It's why I prefer computers and machines. At least they're programmed to not be critical thinkers or emotionally attached to their beliefs, and are adaptable and efficient (unless created to be otherwise!).

Probably true, people have always thought a certain way, so they keep thinking along the same lines.
I hope that one day our methods of communication will be accepted and maybe even respected. Instead of the constant pressure to change and acquire "social skills." And more so, our way of perceiving the world.

Maybe because they are arseholes.....LOL. I am 'normal' my partner is Aspergers. He makes far more sense than me. x

At my last job I had a supervisor who was NT squared. He took a disliking to me almost right off. After a year of nitpicking my job performance, he finally found grounds for firing me.
Talk about stubborn, and refusing to give someone a second chance.

They do that when you are old too. It is cheaper for them in alot of ways unfortunately.

I am stubborn. However Johnny is normal. He is a perfect little boy, and everyone needs to be more like Johnny... and no, he doesn't have to make sence either. Tell them Johnny!! !

People with Asperger's are said to be stubborn, though that is a stereotype.

I think the stubborn people just stand out more because they cause problems.
When people say stubborn I instantly think of a certain person at work. But I work with about 30 people and not all of them are stubborn but I jump right to him and think, yea people at work are stubborn!
I also relate to the above person with their supervisor story though because my ex- line manager was the same and I eventually quit.

On a lighter note, my sister has Autism and is very different from me, she is also one of the most stubborn, black and white thinking people I have ever met. I still love her though.

my ex wife was very stubborn and set in her ways which meant things had to be done her way., sometimes I wonder if she liked change less than I do but she is definitely NT
she never liked to be touched much either just hugs and cuddles were pretty much out of the question but I know she loved me or at least wasn't repulsed by me because sometimes having sex she would tell me where going again in 10minutes
