To keep on the subject of music threads in General Autism Discussion, and for me to get a taste of how autistic minds enjoy music.

Most sacred of all to me is Sparks but I also like T. Rex, David Bowie, Kiss, Adam and the Ants, ELO, The Sweet, Suzi Quatro, The Beatles, Ramones, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Abba, Bee Gees, Queen, Roy Wood, Bay City Rollers (feel free to laugh), Elton John, Status Quo, AC/DC, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and The Buggles.

As you can see, my favourites flourished in my decade of interest- the 1970s- or earlier. I also tend to favour bands over solo artists, but many of the bands are I Am the Band cases (T. Rex in particular). My favourite genre is glam rock but there is some diversity ranging from pure pop to hard rock. I like bands with a lot of musical diversity- a different sound every album!

I like Red Hot Chili Peppers... They're my go-to band. I've only heard a tiny fraction of the songs they've produced, and they were old school BEFORE I was born, but I've yet to hear a piece of music by RHCP that I haven't immediately loved. It started with Under The Bridge and I was hooked.

(I'm crying, in case you were curious.)

Presently I'm completely obsessed with Tool, I haven't listened to much else in a while.

Koji Kondo, Nobuo Uematsu, Harry Gregson-Williams, and The Ink Spots are some of my favorites when it comes to what I listen to. Also shout out to RJD2 for their song A Beautiful Mine for helping me calm down before I almost had a meltdown last week.

I go through periods where I'm fixated on one particular artist for months. In the past, this has included Rush, Franz Liszt, System Of A Down, Mozart, Beethoven, YES, KISS, Michael Jackson, Peter Gabriel, The Police, The Specials, and quite a few others.

They are excellent.

Very recently (like 4 days ago) Fall Out Boy toured in a country town near to me. I didn't go because crowd but my niece went and said they were awesome.

For me, it's The Kinks and The Beatles all the way.

This song is by far my favourite one at the moment. I find if I am driving on my way to a social event, supermarket or any busy places that involve being around lots of people, and possibly having to socialise, listening to music on the way helps to calm me down and reduce my anxiety levels.
