I spend my days trying to get things done at work or home but often find I have actually spent ages, sometimes most of the day, just being lost in my own thoughts not talking to anyone. I don't really get things done, I just sit there. It's kind of day dreaming but usually feels more than than. I just have fixed thoughts in my mind and will go over and over them for a long time.

Seem familiar to anyone?

That happens to me as well. I wonder if my mind is trying to trick me into not getting any work done when that happens to me.

Yes. It's usually about issues and their possible scenarios, creative artistic ideas, or creative theoretical ideas.

I love the occasional empty day where I can do this. I find it de-stresses and restores me very well.

I usually take a ride out by bike to a cafe or occasionally a quiet rural pub and enjoy a meal, letting my thoughts wander, sometimes I take my papaer journal with me and write another chapter or two.

This is a large part of my everyday life, yes. It's also why it's hard for me not to be late for work. Sometimes I just drift away even while trying to get ready.
