What's the thing that's most relaxing for you?

I have a shower over the bath tub, and I lie back in the tub under the hot shower.

BEST THING IN THE WORLD.

How about you?

A picnic on the mountain with some really good beer.

Two or three Valium and a few hours under the weighted blanket will do in a pinch.

Inhaling the smell of lavender oil. A good night's sleep. Cuddling a teddy bear. Going for a walk in amongst the trees.

There have been various things for me through the years that I have found most relaxing. Today, I enjoy an afternoon lying on the couch with some old familiar movie playing softly on the television.

Some things I have found relaxing in the past include:

Sitting on a hotel balcony overlooking a creek or a small river (such as in Gatlinburg).

Walking on the beach (such as at Myrtle Beach).

Lying in a tent on a sunny summer day when it's not too hot and letting a breeze blow through the screen windows (something I did a lot when I was growing up).

Camping in a camper at the local state park.

Oh that's a good one! So relaxing that I'll usually just fall asleep!

A day spent home alone without the immediate danger of my parents bothering me at the least appropriate times imaginable.

Agreed. I'll add, waking early in the morning in a tent miles away from anyone with the birds chirping and the sun just rising. I once pitched my tent on the top of a sea cliff and watched the sunset over the water with my daughter and a hot cup of coffee - magical!
