Princess Diana was unprejudiced/charitable towards groups of people in society such as the poor and people with HIV . But do you think she would have found it in her Heart too be kind towards people with aspergers/autism? I ask this because I feel even the most saintly person would be uncharitable to us people on the spectrum.

When she alive there was little awareness of autism compared to now of course

It's hard to say. She was a busy woman and was interested a lot of causes. If autism came on her radar then maybe.

How would she show her sympathy? There aren't really any hospital wards with autism patients that she could visit.

Yes, I feel she WOULD. IMO, it was very important to her, to teach her boys to be accepting, of EVERYBODY----and, now that her boys are doing this thing with raising awareness about people with mental health issues, that would've made her even MORE-so, IMO (I mean, I know Autism doesn't, technically, fall-under "mental health"; but, the point IS that she was very accepting, of ALL).

There are hospital wards where people with especially severe autism, unfortunately, reside.

She seemed pretty okay to me. I don't know all that much about her.

It was a tragedy that she was killed in the fashion in which she was killed.

Yeah, that's the kind of autism she would deign to approach. The people here would fly under her radar. I don't know how she would come to know about us unless a friend had an autistic child and she learned of it that way.

I guess she went through a lot emotionally and mentally and that pain moved her to want to do things so that other people wouldn't feel pain either.

It's funny I only asked my GF today if she thought people with prosopagnosia would recognize Princess Diana

LOL....they might if they had heard her speak before, and knew, previously, that she was Princess Diana.

I like to think that had the subject of Autism been prominent at the time she was alive she would've been supportive towards those on the spectrum.

People with prosopagnosia probably would not recognize a famous person by their looks, but would know them by their reputation, I believe.

I have at times wondered if Diana was possibly one of us. I know it's wrong to wonder but the way she would angle her face down and peek up for a brief look then quickly look away again. Her depression and eating disorder. She looked so lost and overwhelmed at times. I always felt so sorry for her because she often looked so sad. Her sons are a credit to her. They were lucky to be so loved by their Mum. It's sad that she died way too young.

Kip,

I agree. The Royals all seemed to have their share of issues and she was quite typical in that regard.

Me and some of my friends were debating today if Diana really was a wolf in sheeps clothing underneath her charm? Some words that came too our mind were 'bully' and 'insincere'.

If that's really true or not? We will never know because she is dead but if she had lived we might of seen her dark side come out well before 2017.
