Anyway I was wondering if anyone has tried to boost their blood sulfate levels?

I have an idea to try epsom salt (magnesium heptahydrate) disolved in a 50% water / 50 % DMSO mixture applied to the skin.

No. It would be applied to the skin. And DMSO is not approved for drug delivery.

Quote:
Use of DMSO in medicine dates from around 1963, when a University of Oregon Medical School team, headed by Stanley Jacob, discovered it could penetrate the skin and other membranes without damaging them and could carry other compounds into a biological system. Some people report an onion- or garlic-like taste after touching DMSO. This effect is likely due to catabolic processes that reduce DMSO to dimethyl sulfide. In the medical field DMSO is predominantly used as a topical analgesic, a vehicle for topical application of pharmaceuticals, as an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant. It has been examined for the treatment of numerous conditions and ailments. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved DMSO usage only for the palliative treatment of interstitial cystitis. Also, DMSO is commonly used in the veterinary field as a liniment for horses.

Because DMSO increases the rate of absorption of some compounds through organic tissues including skin, it can be used as a drug delivery system.

Dimethyl sulfoxide dissolves a variety of organic substances, including carbohydrates, polymers, peptides, as well as many inorganic salts and gases

DMSO is a bit dangerous as it will take a lot of things through the skin including carcinogens, poisons. so you need to make sure it is very pure. also it's not good to have too much fo the breakdown products of DMSO i your body

Taking in any compound via DMSO involves a great deal of risk, be careful of the purity
of the Epsom salt, the water it is diluted in, and the DMSO. Consult a physician before
experimenting on yourself.

I've used DMSO for several years. Primary to treat fever blisters. The risk of toxins being absorbed is greatly minimized by the fact that my DMSO is very pure, I have
a reverse osmosis/carbon filtered water machine and epsom's salt is USP grade and consider safe for injection. I doubt any physician would give approval of using DMSO
if he is knowledgeable of the FDA directives on DMSO nor would they want the liability risk.

-------

Don't know how sulphate applies to/does not apply to autism at all.

Do recall reading a How To (understand) book about ADHD Inattentive by C. Thomas Wild who wrote about the difference between thiamine (Vitamin B1) and thiamine mononitrate (Vitamin B1) and the thiamine mononitrate containing sulfur (S) vs the thiamine which was sulfur free. Wild wondered whether the sulfur had the ability to slightly boost, in a small way, the ability of human beings to use their imaginations.

Wild's comments about sulfur were part of an explanation why a FDA approved medicine called Tirend (an alerting agent - which contains caffeine - 100 mg/other ingredients) would temporarily reduce distractibility a little (not a cure) and temporarily increase attention span a little (not a cure).

HMM! This might explain my grandma's, mother's, and my fixation with taking Epsom salt baths! :O
