funny how that works eh?

[excuse me, you CANNOT be diagnosed....]

Yes, I note that acording to section 299.80 of the DSM-IV, criterion F is specified as:

"Criteria are not met for another specific Pervasive Developmental Disorder or Schizophrenia."

I’ve always thought that’s kind of a throw-away requirement, since AS is a spectrum disorder which defies precise definition. Personally, I do not believe AS and schizotypal personality are mutually exclusive (though I note that schizotypal personality and schizophrenia are not exactly the same thing), and defining them as such is an error, or needs a bit of re-wording at least.

Good fortune,

Off-topic Alert: Invoking divine providence. Sue me or challenge me to single combat if you don't like it.

Good gods! Freya, again? I just sent my depressed MySpace friend this [in part]:

"...I've raked stinging nettles along the inside of my left forearm, more than once. In the olden days, would sometimes do this to distract myself from the pain of my life, the pain in my head. Nowadays, I do this just to see if I can still feel anything at all. I think I may go do that now, just to see if it somehow makes you feel better. I've run into one of the Norse goddesses too many times recently for it to be coincidence; she is not in my pantheon, but perhaps she will listen to my pleas and accept my sacrifice in exchange for sending a bit of serendipity your way...."

Freya was the goddess I was talking about. I've run into her in various incarnations an inordinate number of times recently. I send that message, and moments later there is a post-reply alert in my inbox which jumps to a message from Freya, and the message has to do with the schizotypal test of all things.

My arm is now covered with burning, blistery welts. Freya, I expect you to uphold your side of the bargain.

[This message is not directed at any particular user, e.g. Freya918, but to the actual goddess of the same name.]

Off-topic Alert over. Please, carry on.

Good fortune,

- Icarus

Reading up on LSD and ego. Here is a quote from the above link of one guys self report.

Quote:
The profound and terrifying ego-loss experience induced by 8 hits of lsd had unanticipated effects. Over the next several months, I became increasingly "religious", perfectly confident that my soul had literally touched the divine. Subsequent lower-dose experiments induced religious and mystical experiences that I would have thought inaccessable at all but the highest doses.

This makes me remember ayahuasca, and the religions built over it,

I just read on wikipedia that this condition (schizophrenic personality disorder) can be co-morbid with, amongst other things, AS

This test freaked me out and I wish I hadn't taken it.
52.5 out of 74. Is that high? Gawd.

For some reason I can't cut and paste the results.
Somethings I think I answered very conservatively.

FYI, schizotypal disorder has a massive list of differential disorders; this following list is taken from the link TheMachine1 posted:

"Delusional Disorder; Schizophrenia; Mood Disorder With Psychotic Features; Autistic Disorder; Asperger's Disorder; Expressive and Mixed Receptive-Expressive Language Disorders; Communication Disorders; Personality Change Due to a General Medical Condition; symptoms that may develop in association with chronic substance use; Paranoid Personality Disorder; Schizoid Personality Disorder; Avoidant Personality Disorder; Narcissistic Personality Disorder; Borderline Personality Disorder; Schizotypal features during adolescence."

I was going to look into this more and find out before I posted where I stood compared with others, concerned about appearing really nuts, but then thought "Well, duh, of course that is the way I would look at posting these results", so here they are. NOW, I am going to check out what they mean. What leap of faith, yay me.

Couldnt get that link to work so I google cached it and copy/pasted to another free hosting site.

But, as WrongPlanet doesn't allow me to post links as a newbie, it makes it a little hard to share.
