I'm not sure if anyone watches the show here but me (models are one of my FAVORITE subjects) but a new season of ANTM premiered last night and one of the girls on the show is an aspie! It will be interesting to see how she does in the competition. She's very pretty and it seems like she takes great pictures from what I can tell. It's also great to see us get more recognition on TV. Hooray!

I don't think the other girls will automatically hate her just because she's an aspie. I'm sure she's going to have a tough time of it (even the previews said so) but she seems pretty high functioning so she might be just fine. Believe me, there much easier girls to hate on this season. I'm an avid fan. I don't see her winning the show or anything but I'm glad she made it onto the show.

I don't think she'll automatically be hated, but if she has to live in a house with all the others, (or is that just on the UK version???) I feel sorry for her, I couldn't deal with being around all those people 24/7

I caught the show basically 'cause it seemed the least henious thing on but she captured my attention. I'll certainly be checking in on the show now and rooting (sp?) for her.

I've looked through them all now and she's my second favourite after Janet, who I only like because she's got the same haircut as me and Agyness Deyn :D

Cool that there is an aspie with some visible success in the field she dreams about.

I agree that most of those shows are set up so that people argue and end up hating each other - that makes for trauma and drama. That is one big reason that people watch Survivor, the Apprentice, Hell's Kitchen, and those kind of programs. Sometimes the conflicts are rich vs. poor, city vs. rural, southern-accent vs other accent, male vs. female, one race vs another, or just selfish egotist vs others.

Good luck to her!

I watched that last night and all I could think was give these women something to eat before they waste away. It's just too skinny... even for that height. And they expect us women to be able to have a figure like models and it's not always possible.
