Aspie on America's Next Top Model
She made it past the second round.
I think it would be awesome if we all wrote to her so she knows we're cheering her on. That and, I mean, this is amazing! How often does a kid with Down syndrome or Tourette syndrome or autism get on a 'reality television' program?
Normally I'd avoid this show like the plague because I think it is shallow, but I've been watching to see how she does.
I don't look at them as "attractive" as that's not what I'm into
I think Mila Jovovich was 12, actually. She was in this book I had as a kid called "Kid Heroes." Kids got in there for being rescuers, survivors, or achievers, which was the category Mila was in.

I can't imagine trying to put up with those whacky chicks in that house. I give her lots and lots of credit!
Go Heather!
Yeah, I hope she wins, or at least sticks it out for a while. It really is nice to see someone I can identify with on TV! However, Ireally felt her pain in this second episode. I can only imagine how irritating and depressing it must be to be trapped inside a house w/a bunch of bitchy ignorant girls. In addition, I could not deal w/ all of the noise from the girls fighting in that house.
Anyway, I hope she stays strong and kicks their butts. I wonder if she posts on this site.

You KNOW they purposely put her with another person to see what would happen. Reality shows manufacture the drama. I just KNEW they'd end up giving her props at the end of the episode by calling her photo first and telling her she did the best. Serves those other girls right for saying stuff about her.
I literally was like "YEAH" when they called her first. I do hope Miss Jay helps her learn to walk better because that will hurt her later on. Her photo was awesome though.
She reminds me more and more of myself, just watching how she moves and speaks. The way she was sitting outside staring off into space while holding her stuffed monkey - that's totally something I would do. It's so awesome to finally have someone I can relate to on TV.
I got really annoyed with some of the girls treating her like a 2nd class human being, and joking around about her behind her back, but I think she handles it very very well. I think they thought she'd be sent home first. After this episode she proved that she is going to be strong competition regardless of her AS.

And because of her AS! Some of those other girls are too naive and conceited to realize that a model's real job is to display a product or service, not to display themselves. Models are supposed to project on the runway or in front of the camera, and then disappear into a corner! Those girls who think they need to "bring the attitude" 24/7 are going to be in for a bad surprise if they try to model IRL. Drama only sells on reality TV. Actual modeling is a real job.
She showed she wanted to work with judges during the critique which will definitely help her. Where the other girls seemed to hear the advice and nod she actually tried to modify what she was doing at the moment to project what they were talking about. She said she was "there to learn" and it seems like she is both learning and improving.
She owned that shoot! Her picture was stunning and the reflection captured the camp of the show and the over-the top makeup!
lol, "demonic" and damned fantastic!

I agree. Where many girls would argue with the judges or get defensive upon hearing (constructive) criticism, she straightened right up and immediately made an effort to change. She's humble, honest and very sweet - not to mention she is beautiful and photogenic. She might end up winning if she can cope with all the petty reality show drama. Even if she doesn't win she'll probably wind up with a modeling contract with another agency (that happens a lot to eliminated contestants).

I noticed right off she was asperger's...do you think it will be obvious to others as well? She walked as though she was not sure what to do with her body, and she had very odd responses to the judges. I feel like she must be very brave to attempt that.
I could not do it, even if I looked so pretty.

I noticed this too, especially when they are in a group. Visual she stands out from the other girls - it almost looked like she was modeling (posing) and the others looked like they were just standing around, waiting to model. It might help her, like unamed said :
If I was looking to hire a model and there were 12 girls standing before me she might stand out in my mind because she was showing me a little of what she actually has to offer in terms of "product" rather than waiting to be picked and then show me if they have something to offer or not. All the dog eat dog drama is hard to watch, Heather is one tough girl!

I should do an interview with her for the front page.
