Make a list of the traits you believe make someone an aspie (forget about diagnoses from the so-called specialists). What traits must someone have in order for you to consider them an aspie?

Feeling like you're the only human on a planet full of monkies.

Having to explain to NT's what's absurdly funny. For instance, Tuesday I heard the following on the radio:

"We'll be serving you for breakfast, lunch, and dinner."

My first response would be that there are no traits common to all aspies.

AS is a very narrow form of autism. I think the primary indicators are delayed language and social development in children, and the consequential co-morbids in adults.

Of course, the OLD criteria for AS says that such a person would NOT be AS! Many HERE, even diagnosed AS, didn't have delayed language!

It is because of garbage like that that I would have to say there is NO given common denominator.

Then again, you can't classify people as belonging to the same group if they have nothing in common, can you?

Well, it is a spectrum that goes all over the place. It is just that there are certain limits. You could say x to y OR a-b OR c-d OR any combination, but to say that it is ALWAYS x to y or ALWAYS a-b would not cover many here.

Gilbergs criteria is CONTRARY to aspergers, which is different from the DSM, etc...
