What did you think of this book? Firstly, did you like it, and secondly, how did MarkHaddon go in describing thoughts of an autistic teenager?

i felt the writing style was sometimes to NT to be considered autistic.

thought it was good.

i dont know what u mean by NT vs autistic writing style... i know LFA people here who write exquisitely and you'd never think they would really even be coherent at all......

was childlike none the least... though i thought it was somewhat stereotypical at some points... given the natural aptitudes of the kid and stuff like that.

what i meant was that I found a website run by a person with autism that basically said that there were certain pasges in the book that would not have been written from an autistic viewpoint.

It confused me to the point that when my shrink told me she thought I had Asperger's I was unsure.

because the character displayed certain traits that did not fit into your perception of who you were?

the second half of the book wasnt really autistic. more crazy. but the rest was good

I didn't like it. It was quick reading, but the character was very negative.

Too stereotypical.

I enjoyed the book. I'm not nearly as handicapped by my condition as the main character, but it seemed to be a good representation of HFA.
